What do you get when you take a room full of musicians, put their names in a hat, randomly put them in bands together, and give them 7 days to create music to be performed at The Somerset on Sept. 29?

BANDWICH 2012!

This battle of the bands style competition is given a twist with the bands being assembled by random selection. After a fantastic second edition last year at The Somerset, we are excited to be bringing Bandwich back for another kick at the can at this fantastic venue.

On Friday, Sept. 21, at Callahan’s Pub, 2 Princess St. bring yourself and all your musician friends for registration at 7 p.m. This will be a fantastic opportunity to mix things up a little in the Saint John music scene and provide an opportunity for musicians with a little or a lot of stage experience to play together.

On Sept. 29, after a week of practice, the newly formed bands will perform for your listening pleasure at The Somerset. Music will start at 9 p.m. sharp.

Cover at the door is $5 and, as you enter, you will receive 5 ballots to vote for your favourites. Additional ballots to vote can be purchased at $1 a piece throughout the evening. All proceeds will go to the not-for-profit campus and community radio station, Local 107.3fm.

For more information regarding Bandwich, you can contact Station Manager, Brian Cleveland by phone: 648-5667; or by email: brian@cfmh.ca.
