Kevin Manuel is coaching for the Seawolves women’s volleyball team because he enjoyed his experience when he was a student and an athlete at UNBSJ. He played for four years and wants to continue to be involved in sports at the school.

Kevin Smith and Jeff Todd are Manuel’s assistant coaches for the year and they all look forward to improving the skills of the women’s volleyball team. “We enjoyed a lot of success with the men’s program and cannot wait to bring that success back to the women’s program that it enjoyed when it hosted nationals,” says Manuel. The entire coaching staff have high expectations that include returning to the ACAA playoffs and continuing to build the team to compete at the top of the league year after year.

Manuel acknowledges that he has some great returning players from last year. He said “We have a great mix of returning players like Alison Stymiest and Vero Bastarche who we will be looking to help lead a large group of new recruits.” The new players on the team include Sarah Meehan, Maddie Tees, Katherine Houser, CJ Mitton and Jazmine Campbell.

The women’s volleyball team will be attending a tri-match in Brunswick, Maine over the Thanksgiving weekend and the first home game is against the ACAA champions MSVU on the first weekend of November.
