To celebrate orientation week, a fun event was planned by the Students’ Representative Council for the final frosh event.

Casino Night was held in the Baird Dining Room at UNBSJ on Friday, Sept. 7. The cafeteria was transformed into Sin City for a night of gambling with cards, chips and dealers. Students could buy fake casino money to gamble from 7-9 p.m. and then use their winnings to bid on prizes when the auction started at 10 p.m.

Tons of students and frosh showed up dressed to the nines to gamble the night away. Students could choose from Russian roulette, Poker, Blackjack or Horse Racing to play, while the DJ played banging top 10 hits.

There were some incredible prizes to be won including a 40” LCD TV, an iMac, an iPad, Beats by Dre headphones and some UNBSJ gear.

Boys showed up looking like James Bond in stylish suits, yelling “twenty-one!” while winning blackjack; it certainly looked like a night in Vegas.

The banging beats and free refreshments made it a night to remember and a great activity for orientation week. Congratulations to all of the prize winners!
