The UNB Saint John Seawolves hosted their first set of home games on September 6 and 7. Both the Men’s and Women’s Seawolves recorded 1 win and 1 loss on the weekend.

On the men’s side, the UNBSJ Seawolves and Dal AC Rams opened the ACAA season with an entertaining game that featured plenty of scoring chances in wet conditions. The Rams opened the scoring when a free kick by Chris Morash from just outside the 18 yard box was deflected past the Seawolves keeper. The Seawolves looked to be down and out but broke through late in the game with goals from Andrew Henry and Abdulrahman Rajih, for a final score of 2-1 on the day.

Sunday evenings game was not as favourable for the Seawolves against the Holland College Hurricanes. The Hurricanes dominated throughout the contest peppering the Seawolves keeper with shots. They led 2-0 at the half. The Seawolves tried to make a game of it, cutting the lead to 2-1 early in the second half but the Hurricanes scored two late goals to put away the victory. Jordan Darrell was the star of the game, scoring three goals for the Hurricanes.
