Are you looking for a Valentine’s gift for your significant other that is as cute as they are? Look no further! The Saint John SPCA is selling Valentine’s gift baskets, which will be delivered to your “someone special” on February 13th by the SPCA and an adorable pooch.

Baskets cost a total of $30, and must be ordered by Feb. 10th. The SPCA requests that you call (506-642-0920 extension 4) or email sjarlfinance@gmail.com to place an order. The proceeds from the “Cupid for a Cause” campaign will help the SPCA greatly, making it a perfect feel-good gift and getting you brownie points with the animal lover in your life.

On Feb. 6th, the SPCA is also hosting a Wine Tasting Fundraiser at Vito’s uptown from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Anyone wanting to donate to the SPCA and taste some great wine is welcome to stop by. The event website, which can be found here, states that, “The event will be featuring six wines – all brands support animal welfare either in our province or internationally. At the end of the evening, 2 oz. samples will be available for purchase for an additional $1.” If you are planning to purchase tickets at the door, please call in advance (506-644-9642).

Follow the Saint John SPCA on Facebook or check out their website, www.spcaanimalrescue.com for upcoming events and featured pets.

Don’t forget! The Baron is accepting pet food donations at their office on the second floor of the Thomas J. Condon Student Centre. We ask that all monetary donations go directly to the SPCA. For more information, contact Editor-in-Chief Jenna Albert.
