On February 18, UNB announced the launch of its new Bachelor of Health program on its Saint John campus. It will start taking students for the program in the fall of 2020.
The program is a collaboration between the Bachelor of Arts, Business, and Science, Applied Science & Engineering degrees. According to the school’s press release, the program will provide knowledge from elements of all three programs and opportunities for students to “gain hands-on experience in health and social innovation”.
The interdisciplinary aspect of this unique degree will holistically prepare graduates for careers in the health field, with listed examples being “biomedical health fields, population and community health, health management as well as professional programs and associated entrance exams”.
The program was created to address the growing issues and gaps in the healthcare systems of both the province and Canada as a whole.
Admissions to the program will be open once the program receives its final approval from the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Council.
