Looking for summer employment that relates to your degree program? Then the Summer Work-Integrated Learning Program (SWILP) may be for you!
UNB’s Office of Experiential Education, UNB Financial Aid, and UNB Career Development & Employment Centre partnered together to provide internships and programs available to students in several different degree programs. These currently include Arts internships, Renaissance College internships, kinesiology internships, and co-op programs for engineering and science students.
Per the director of the program, Sarah King, “SWILP helps you set and reach personal and professional goals and provides training, support, and opportunities to reflect on what you’ve learned through your summer job”.
All SWILP positions pay $14 an hour, and are between 12-16 weeks from May to August.
How to apply
To apply, visit www.experience.unb.ca and complete the registration form, the financial needs assessment application and review the information sessions PowerPoint and guide for resources on how to prepare your resume and cover letter. These need to be done by Thursday, April 9.
After you have completed this, you can apply for up to six jobs that are posted in the SWILP module on ExperienceUNB. It is important to note that many of the jobs will be set up for you to work remotely or with delayed start dates due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After applying, interested employers will contact you directly to conduct virtual interviews between April 9 and 23. Successful applicants will be contacted by April 24, with a mandatory training day scheduled for May 4.
You can contact email@example.com with any questions you may have.
Best of luck, and make sure you take advantage of this program!
