UNB-SRC announces General Elections 2021

The SRC has announced the schedule for the general elections starting with nomination week.

Nomination week 

From February 8 to 12, students can apply to run for the available SRC positions. Interested students must be at least 19 years old and be in good academic standing. 

To apply for a position, students must email the SRC’s General Manager at generalmanager@unbsrc.ca, who will be providing nominations forms on February 8 at 9 a.m. Students must fill it and email it back before February 12. Late submissions will not be accepted. 

Available positions 

Students can run for the following positions: 

Executive Positions: 

  • President 
  • Vice-President External  

Council Positions:

  • Arts Councillor 
  • Business Councillor 
  • SASE Councillor 
  • Nursing/Health Sciences Councillor 
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Councillor 
  • International Student Councillor 
  • LGBTQ+ Councillor 
  • Mature Students Councillor 
  • Member-at-Large 

External Positions:

  • Three positions on the Senate Representative 
  • One position on the Board of Governors

Campaign week 

All the campaigning, which will start on February 15 and end on February 19, must be online. 

Physical campaigning will not be allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Voting week 

Students will be able to vote from February 22 to February 26 before midnight. No campaigning is allowed this week.  

How to vote 

To vote, students must go to their e-services account, select “SRC Election Feb 2021” in “Voting” and submit their votes.
