Society’s activities and events

The society plans to host multiple entertainment events, like trivia nights and giveaways, but it also wants to include faculty-sponsored events for students. Students will have the chance to attend presentations about research opportunities, professional career seminars and others. Their long-term goal is to establish a science mentorship program and to create a legacy of the science society for future students.

Online events on Teams and Discord will also be available.

The first event of the society will be on Friday, March 25 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be at the Whitebone Pizzeria where students will be able to join as general members.

Science Society’s mission

The society’s mission is to make the Science Society a student-led community for students of different academic years and scientific streams to have a meaningful space where they can create connections, share ideas, and participate in educational and enriching social events.

“We want to create a culture at UNBSJ for science students that are more than just coming to classes”, said a representative of the society.
