On Friday, April 1, the UNB-SRC hosted an end-of-year carnival for all UNB undergraduate and Dalhousie Medicine students at Market Square in Uptown Saint John.

The event was free with the option of buying alcoholic beverages for those 19+. It included snacks, music from local musicians, a photo booth, tarot card readings, a drag show, and many games hosted by various clubs and societies from campus. There were also several prizes to be won, some of which included a MacBook Air, Area 506 tickets, a Nintendo Switch, and AirPods.
Safe Ride also ran all evening so that students could get to and from the event safely, run by Vice President Finance Kirsten Hurley.
Message from event organizers

Special Events Coordinator Julia Kaine, who was hired to help organize this event, stated that the event was a “great success”.
“…I really wanted this event to be a place where students could take some time to unwind from the busy school year and have fun with their peers,”.
Vice President Student Life Blake Allen was also happy with the turn out for the event.
“There is such a supportive and enthusiastic group of students that are just excited to participate and elevate campus life at UNBSJ,”.
Students enjoyed games, photo booth

Computer Science student Suman Dep Nath was one of the prize winners, winning himself a MacBook Air.
” I really enjoyed attending the carnival that was organised by the UNB-SRC. The games [were] really interesting and challenging. The Ring Toss [was] my favourite game.
The best part of the carnival was [the] photo booth. We really enjoyed taking fancy and professional photographs.”
