UNB Student Representative Council President Devin Debly has submitted his resignation letter today.

Debly’s resignation comes after calls from the student body for his position to be investigated by the SRC.

The SRC posted the following statement on their Instagram today:

“The UNB SRC would like to inform the student body that the President has decided to step down from his position. Faseeh Khalil has been appointed to interim president for the remainder of the academic year. We would like to thank the president for his time in office and wish him the best in future endeavours. Thank you all for the continued support and we look forward to what the rest of the year will bring”.

Khalil was recently appointed as Vice President External after Ridhima Dixit resigned from the position earlier this year.

Debly’s resignation happens during SRC campaign week for the 2023 to 2024 academic year.
