Greed

Money and power are an endless need.
You call yourself human, a noble name,
But strip off the mask, it’s a hollow claim.
The humans I know have hope in their eyes,
Their voices are torches that light up the skies.
The humans I know fight wrong with their might,
They’ll pay any cost to defend what is right.
The humans I know love wide and deep,
Even those cast aside, the world failed to keep.
But you drown yourself in delusions’ spell,
A leader, a soldier, who drags us through hell.
You claim you are a martyr, a man who has seen,
Yet all of your actions are callous, obscene.
You don’t get to choose who is free, who can stand,
Your humanity’s gone, you’ve blood on your hands.
I’ve seen in the eyes of the creatures you scorn,
More mercy and kindness than you’ve ever worn.
You see skin as a threat, yet you dare to preach,
While truth and compassion stay out of your reach.
Who are you?
War crimes are your legacy, and lies are what you do.
But humanity’s flame will not die away,
It sparks in the hearts of the children today.
The difference between you and those who comply,
It is a flicker of hope that refuses to die.
For the children, the silenced, the broken, the lost,
For the ones who still dream, though they’ve paid the cost.
So rise with your voice, let injustice decay,
The moment is here, stand up today.
It’s now or never, no time to delay,
For never is never, and now is the way.
