Samridhi Girdhar/The Baron
The night grew reticent
The blood moon aglow
Down among the headstones
The spirits wallowed in their sorrow
Though the children were long asleep
Tired from the evening’s quests
Ghostly visitors invited themselves in
They made frightening house guests
Radio dials spiralled in fear
Shattered glass was left in their wake
Meticulous, they infiltrated the space
Certain there was nothing left to break
Come dawn, destruction will rein the home
Ending with the wood in flame
The ghouls will rest for Earth’s orbit
When they will search another property to maim
