Saint John Transit has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing the safety of passengers by taking extra precautions.
On Thursday, March 19, Saint John Transit passengers are being asked to enter the bus using the rear doors, with the exception of those with disabilities, mobility issues and wheelchairs.
They also announced the suspension of all fare collection, making buses free for the time being, to help promote social distancing while still providing services.
Saint John Transit also clarified what they are doing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, which includes daily cleaning of busses and enhanced disinfecting for commonly touched areas.
All transit services are operating on a regular schedule. Those who are sick or symptomatic are being asked to avoid using public transit.
