The UNBSJ Seawolves had a hard time containing the visiting St. Thomas Tommies on Feb. 13, as the Tommies cruised to an easy 85-49 victory over the host team.

The first quarter began on a promising note for the Seawolves, who found themselves down by just one basket before calling a timeout. However, STU came out flying following the timeout, going on an 8 point run and closing out the quarter up 19-8.

UNBSJ tried to keep it close in the second quarter, as they chipped away the Tommies’ lead. However, STU kept up their strong play and finished the half up 29-21.

The Seawolves came out flat footed in the third quarter as the Tommies jumped out early, going on an 11-0 run. STU closed out the quarter up 54-38.

The Tommies continued their dominant play in the fourth quarter. The Seawolves couldn’t climb out of the hole they were in and the Tommies took the game with final score of 85-49.

Top scorers for the Tommies were Lonzel Lowe with 16 points, followed closely by Calvin Leblanc with 14 and Bradley Hovey with 12. Jason Daniels was named player of the game for STU.

Countering for the Seawolves was Kayden Roy who led the pack in scoring with 19 points. Tom Waggot and Jarred Crawford both chipped in with four rebounds. Roy was named player of the game for UNBSJ
