Saturday, February 22 was Alumni and Parent Appreciation Night for the UNBSJ Seawolves volleyball teams. They were also the final home games of the season, and the final home games for the Women’s Volleyball team co-captains #7 Montanna Meyer and #12 Dayna Alexander. The bleachers were packed with family, friends, and students loudly cheering for the Seawolves.

The UNBSJ Seawolves took on the Université de Sainte-Anne Mystics. The women started at 5 p.m. UNBSJ took the first set 25-13. Starting the second set, the Mystics came out strong, but UNBSJ had some major kills and huge blocks to take the set 25-21. The third set was close, but UNBSJ came out victorious, taking the game in three sets.

Congratulations to Montanna and Dayna for the successful careers as Seawolves; you made the students, fans, your family and friends very proud.

After the women, the men took on the Mystics. The game started out with long rallies that kept the fans on the edges of their seats. #6 Ryan Farrell helped the Seawolves by digging some intense hits, and also returning hits.  UNBSJ called a timeout, but won the set 25-20. UNB also took the second set 25-13. In the third set, #9 Garett Windle had some insane kills to help the Seawolves win the third set 25-21, and the Seawolves took the game in three sets.

Congratulations to both the Women’s and Men’s volleyball teams on successful home seasons. The countdown is on for next season. Go Seawolves!
