The UNB-SRC has organized a week of sex-positivity events for UNBSJ undergraduate and DalMed students. This article has been updated to reflect recent changes due to COVID-19.

Sex week events

“Sex Week” is an event that, according to the website, is intended to “remove the stigma around pleasure, consent boundaries, and comprehensive sexual education”.  

The events start on November 30 and end on December 4.  

Sex Week Trivia  

On Monday, November 30, there will be a trivia night hosted by the SRC president, Patrick Hickey. There will be a prize for the winner of each of the three rounds.  

The trivia will be on Teams and will begin at 7:00 p.m. and prizes will be dropped off to the winners.

Sex-positive movie night  

Tuesday, December 1, the SRC had planned an in-person movie night. The movie night will now be through Teams and Netflix party, a Google Chrome extension. The movie begins at 7:00 p.m.

The movie will be “Friend with Benefits” (2011), a romantic comedy starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. 

Talk with Trish  

On Wednesday, December 2, Trish Pendleton, a student counselor, will give a talk on Teams called “Beyond Consent: Taking Action Against Sexual Violence.”

The talk will discuss consent and rape culture and will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Sex toy bingo  

To close the events of the week, on Thursday, December 3, there will be several rounds of bingo. Participants will have three chances to win each round.  

The bingo night will be hosted by the Drag Queen Justin Todeep on Teams at 7 p.m.
