Kreating Conversations and SJ Suicide Prevention

Kreating Conversations aims to create a safe space for students who have experienced or are experiencing mental illness. The group fosters an open and non-judgmental place for students to discuss the struggles and hardships that they face.

SJ Suicide Prevention is a local organization of volunteers who train, bring awareness to, and work on suicide prevention.

About the coffeehouse

The event hopes “…to get people talking about mental health in a positive way,” Kreating Conversations says. Students are encouraged to take a break from their busy schedules to support students who have overcome mental health issues and students who are overcoming their struggles. Through fostering a safe environment, Kreating Conversations advocates “…to the greater public that us students here at UNB take pride in mental health wholeheartedly,”.

The event will feature live music from local musicians, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There will also be lots of prizes to claim. Performances can include anything, like singing, sharing a poem or simply telling your story.
