The Lorenzo Society feels privileged to be hosting this series to honour Dr. Xu’s work with developing greater relations between DalMedNB and UNB Saint John by allowing all to participate in the Heartbeat! Choir and the ceilidh band, Ceol.

The Weekly Wednesday Concert Series will be featuring various local musical artists who will showcase their talents every Wednesday afternoon from 12-1pm until April 5 at the Baird Dining Hall in the Thomas J. Condon Student Centre. Some of the local artists that will be featured includes The Saint John String Quartet, Before the Mast and many more!

The Weekly Wednesday Concert Series began last Wednesday, January 11 with an incredible performance by second year UNB Saint John student, Joseph Albert. His performance demonstrated his long-standing musical practice, as he began learning and playing the Piano at 13 years old. Although he enjoys various genres, his favourite is jazz – a genre in which he is greatly influenced by.

“I hope that I can share my love of music and that people will be encouraged to learn an instrument” Albert says. “Learning music brings so much joy to the learner. It is important to keep in mind that this process does not happen overnight. One percent better everyday is the best advice out there!” he continued.

The Lorenzo Society hopes that students and faculty at UNB Saint John will enjoy the Weekly Wednesday Concert Series and wishes to also give thanks to Dr. Ronald M. Lees for his generosity in helping to make this concert series successful.
