The SRC multicultural week took place from January 30 to February 2, 2024.
Many different societies and student associations are holding events this week to celebrate the cultures of different countries. This week is a wonderful opportunity to deepen their understanding of other cultures and learn about the different clubs and societies celebrating other cultures here on campus.
The Events
Multicultural week started Tuesday, January 30th with a movie night. The Palestinian society hosted a movie night with the feature being “The Law in These Parts”. The documentary focuses on the occupied territories in Palestine.
On Wednesday, January 31st, the SRC and the Global Society hosted world trivia in the Whitebone Pizzeria. The event featured free pizza and prizes and allowed students to put their knowledge about different countries and cultures to the test.
On Thursday, February 1st, the African Caribbean Society hosted an event for DIY Head Wraps. The event took place in the Whitebone Pizzeria. It afforded students the opportunity to learn how to wear a scarf stylishly.
Also on Thursday, February 1st, the Muslim Student Association hosted an event for World Hijab Day. At the event, students were invited to learn more about the Hijab, eat some delicious food, try henna art, and try on the Hijab.
