Orientation week is run by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and is a great way for new students to meet their first year peers and get involved in some fun activities. For the 2012-2013 school year, Orientation week kicked off on Monday, Sept. 3 and ended Saturday, Sept. 6.  What did students think of Orientation week this year? It seemed to be a great success with prizes, events and new friends. One student said on the Facebook group, “This week has been a blast; it’s been nice getting to know everyone so far!”

The line up of events were ‘relax before it’s too late,” “Super Tuesday,” “Shineday,” “Athletic Orientation,” “Casino Night,” “Extreme Sunday,” and to top it all off, a beach party at Tuckers Beach. Frosh were able to easily settle in to UNBSJ, creating new friends, new memories and a new chapter to their lives.

Hopefully they will look back on the memories made at these events fondly for many years to come.

Emily is in her fourth year of Political Science. She loves studying and academics which follows into her research work. She's a stern black coffee drinker and is a proud Acadienne. When she's not working or doing school work, you can find Emily listening to 70s music on vinyl and watching Parks and Recreation. If you ask her about parliamentary institutions, she won't stop talking.
